A Day Back Home

This last Friday J decided to go to his cousin's ranch over by Enterprise and pick up a couple loads of hay. Since he was going to be gone the entire day, I decided to take our three younger children to visit my family. It just happened to be my little sister's birthday. All that could get together for lunch, were invited to Pizza Factory for a little celebration. I enjoyed visiting with her and the rest of the family. Not to mention how yummy the food was. As we were leaving the Pizza Factory, my Mom mentioned how she was going to take off to SLC with my older sister, so that meant Dad was home alone. C caught on and said to my Dad, "Grandpa, since Grandma is going to SL, will you take me fishing? My Mom can just hang out by herself." My Dad laughed, and agreed to make it a special time for C. They adventured up to Kids' Pond for a few hours, leaving me with the two younger kids. We had a great time shopping and visiting the other grandparents.
While C was gone, I went to my Dad's folks to visit and play games. Afterwards I went to my Mom's mother to visit. She showed M how to collect seeds from zinnias, and let them each pick a few to take with us. This is my Grandma P in her little flower garden. I took a picture of this particular zinnia. It was the most beautiful and original one in her garden. After visiting my Grandparents, we then headed to my parents house to hang out a little bit more with Grandpa. We had bought a tricycle, and the kids were eager to put it together. Dad was a good sport, and the kids enjoyed working with him.

We attended the Dixie Round-up all three nights that it was in session. It was fun watching all of the Wright cousins ride Bucking Bulls and Saddle Bronc. We even had a cousin that won the Muttin' Bustin' event. I put our kids in for the drawing of Muttin' Bustin', but none of them got drawn out this year. Perhaps next year. Our kids look forward to this rodeo every year. There are great riders, great food, and great half time entertainment. It is fun to simply go and watch people. There are all sorts of walks of life there. I love the "want-a-be" cowboys the best.

I sang a duet in church yesterday. It was entitled, "Behold His Arms". I have finally found someone who blends with me really well. I enjoyed singing with her. I received lots of comments. A few of which said, "I bet you love seeing with your sister. You sound so good together." Or even better, "You and your daughter sing so well together. You should sing more often." Seeing how my friend is just a couple of years younger than me, it made me chuckle a little. And then made me take a step back and wonder if I am really looking that old. Oh well, does it really matter? I am happy with who I am and where I am in life. Too me, that's all that counts.

For the last few months, M, my daughter, has been asking me about having voice lessons. I told her that she is too young, but I could teach her some fun songs to sing. After she started asking, I received a few calls from people asking if my Show Choir was back up and performing. I told them no, but I'd call them if anything changed. Thinking of M and her desire I decided to start it back up. I have been going for four weeks now, and it has proved to be a blast. I have 18 kids (both boys and girls) in this class. We meet once a week for a half hour. I teach them different songs, and then some simple dance moves to go along with them. Our first performance will be in December.

That tricycle is awesome, what kind is it and where did you get it? My kids would have such a blast riding that!

Man, you are one busy lady! I wish I lived closer so I could get my girls in your show choir!!
Isn't it one of life's greatest blessings to have Grandparents around!?! I'm grateful every day that my kids get to spend so much time with my parents!
